Grace for your spirit
For how can I endure to see the calamity which shall befall my people, and how can I endure to see the destruction of my kindred? Esther 8:6
Esther and Mordecai had won their personal battles. They won the favor of the king, their adversary Haman had been executed, they moved into his house, and life was sweet. Escaping their own calamity would not be enough for them. They knew the edict to kill all the Jews in the world was still out there. They turned their efforts to reverse the command to exterminate all their people, and saved them. Our situation is similar. We have all the spiritual blessings in Christ, but that should not be enough. Our efforts should turn to the lost and dying world without Jesus. May we not live in our luxury while others are lost. Let’s go to work to save the world.
