Grace for your spirit June 6, 2008

For we do not have a high priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but One who has been tempted in all things as we are, yet without sin. Heb 4:15

Christ is our great high priest. He knows every temptation the world can possibly offer, and understands every weakness. Since Jesus never sinned, he had to suffer every temptation to the very end. That never happens to us. We don’t suffer every temptation, because we sin long before every one comes our way. I have never been infinitely tempted to eat a chocolate sundae. I eat it long before every temptation is presented to me. Jesus is present, sympathetic, and ready to help us all the way to the end of every temptation. May we draw near to Him for grace and help in our time of need.

The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ be with your spirit
Philippians 4:23
