Come now, you who say, "Today or tomorrow we will go to such and such a city, and spend a year there and engage in business and make a profit." James 4:13
Real faith produces dependence on God in us. True faith reminds us that that God is in charge, not us. When we start making all our plans like we are in charge, we need to take another look at life. We have no way of knowing what we are going to do, and the best path in life is put the future in the hands of that one that does know. That is God. Remember when everyone in the church used to say, "Lord willing". Those two words take the boast out of our life, and puts our trust where it belongs. As I recall, when people use to say "Lord willing", everyone seemed to be a lot happier. Let’s try that again.
