Grace for your spirit September 10, 2009

Grace for your spirit

Therefore, confess your sins to one another, and pray for one another so that you may be healed The effective prayer of a righteous man can accomplish much. James 5:16

One of the strengths of our Christian brotherhood is the power of prayer. We are encouraged to confess our sins to one another and pray. Do our brothers and sisters have enough confidence in us to confess their sins to us? Do they know their confession will be used only for good and edification? Can they rest easy knowing that prayers will be offered on their behalf? If they answer to any of these questions is NO, then people will not be open to help. Many a prayer chain has become a gossip chain with people being hurt instead of helped. What is the reputation of your fellowship? Are we known to be prayers or gossipers? If it is gossiping without prayer, there will be no healing, and damage will result. Let’s work to build that trust through prayer.

The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ be with your spirit

Philippians 4:23
