For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord. plans for welfare and not for calamity, to give you a future and a hope. Jeremiah 29:11
The prophet Jeremiah was warning God's people of a great disaster on the horizon. Jerusalem and their nation was going to fall, and they would be taken away in captivity. They didn't know it because they weren't listening. As things fell apart, this would be an important promise for them to remember. God certainly did have a hope for them beyond their troubles. It is also an important promise for all of us as well, when we are experiencing troubles. God is faithful, and He has plan for us. Let's keep our eyes on the Lord and not on the circumstances surrounding us today. There is a brighter tomorrow walking by faith
