Grace for your spirit October 7, 2013

Grace for your spirit
For Ezra had set his heart to study the law of the Lord and to practice it, and to teach His statutes and ordinances in Israel. Ezra 7:10

Ezra had been a great task for the Lord and His people.  After 70 years in Babylonian captivity, Ezra was called to lead God's back to Israel and reestablish them in their homeland.  Had the people learned their lessons in captivity?  Their ignorance and rebellion against God's laws were still evident.  Ezra was shocked at the unfaithfulness of God's people and he felt a personal responsibility to make a difference, and he did.  Are we ever shocked at the unfaithfulness of God's people?  Do we feel any responsibility to make a difference?  It begins where Ezra began.  May we have the motivation to set our heart on studying, practicing, and teaching God's law and love
