But you have an anointing from the Holy One, and you all know. I John 2:20
In Old Testament times there was a practice of anointing special servants of God with oil. When a prophet, priest, or king was selected, the blessing and ordination of God was expressed to all by an anointing. It was to set them apart for a holy work. Christians in His kingdom are set apart to be saints, prophets, and priests. For that holy calling, we are sanctified by the anointing of His Holy Spirit. We know what are challenges and solutions are by that anointing. Let's walk with confidence through this dark world. We are the anointed ones, and greater is He that is in us, than he that is in the world.
