Then the king gave orders, and Daniel was brought in and cast into the lions' den. The king spoke and said to Daniel, "Your God whom you constantly serve will Himself deliver you." Daniel 6:16
The Prophet Daniel was sent to be a prophet to the enemies of God's people. He made us his mind never to compromise God's principles, and his enemies respected him all the more, through the Babylonian empire and reign of the Medes and Persians. Even when the king was trapped into throwing Daniel in the lion's den, King Darius was trusting in Daniel's God to save him. You see, Daniel wasn't in the lion's den, the lions were in Daniel's den. We are called to be prophets among God's enemies. How are we doing?
